Shannon & Ted Skokos Stage: Winspear Opera House
Shannon & Ted Skokos Stage at the AT&T Performing Arts Center

The Skokos Ranch is a wildlife management property developed to create a healthy ecosystem that promotes resiliency and productivity of both wildlife and its habitat. The Ranch diligently follows a precise schedule of calendared activities to ensure clean water, nutrient cycling, and native plant growth, along with actively monitoring to safeguard its thriving wildlife population. Understanding the intertwined relationship between humans and animals has always fascinated our founders, an example of which is shown in our founder Shannon Skokos’ book Ask God’s Creatures. Scripture teaches “but ask the animals, and they will teach you; or the birds of the air, and they will tell you.” (Job 12:7 NIV.)

Moreover, from a practical human health perspective, time spent in nature and viewing wildlife results in reduced stress while enhancing creativity and overall well-being. This beneficial human-animal relationship must be protected. While population growth flies ahead at breakneck speeds, the Skokos Ranch believes we must not forget the impact to our wildlife and natural vegetation caused by shrinkage of habitat and human disruption. Thus, a commitment was made to forge ahead with the development of Skokos Ranch in hopes of playing at least a small role in preserving wildlife and its habitat for future generations and leaving the Earth itself just a little better than we found it.
